Recommended Slip Resistant Shoes
To qualify for the shoe subsidy, all shoes purchased must be black in colour, have a closed toe and heel, and have the term “slip-resistant” either on the shoe or in the documentation that accompanies the shoe.
The following brands of shoes currently meet our specifications:
- Preferred Brand: Shoes for Crews (shoesforcrews.ca). Any style available on the website. Up to $190 covered with no payment necessary.
- New Balance: Model 626V2 only (men’s and women’s)
- Skechers: Non-slip only
- Dansko: Non-slip only
- Keen: Model “Utility” only
- SAS: Guardian and Liberty models only
- Shoeper: Blundstone Steel Toe, Yellow/Green labels ONLY (drivers only)
Getting Reimbursed for Safety Shoes
- Purchase shoes that meet the criteria above.
- Bring the shoes, your sales receipt and all documentation to your Supervisor, who will check to ensure that they meet the criteria.
- Your Supervisor will provide you with the process for obtaining your money. This is an online process through ECS, using your central login and password, and is to be completed by the employee.
